Madloch’s 3rd Avenue imprint returns for their second release of 2015 this week.
It sees Nicolas Pourtale making his second appearance on the label which follows a remix production for Stellar Fountain late last year. The Argentinean producer’s ‘Forest Nautica’ was first heard on 3rd Avenue’s ‘We Are The Future’ Summer 2014 collection. Easily the standout production of Nicolas’ career it’s ethereal voices, dulcet rhythms and emotive vibes closed out the compilation in stunning fashion. Now for 3rd Avenue’s sixty first overall release we see two brand new interpretations from Mohn (NL) and Lucefora.
The first interpretation is provided by Mohn (NL) who is making his first appearance on 3rd Avenue. The Dutch producer had several highlights in 2014 with an appearance on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeats Volume 2 compilation and winning Sound Avenue’s Han Haak remix competition being the most notable. I’ve been a fan of his up-tempo, timeless techno sound for quite a while and to see him remixing such a gorgeous track like ‘Forest Nautica’ is quite exciting. The results as expected are outstanding. Mohn’s momentous beats are shifted down a touch from their usual tempo but they still deliver that dynamic punch you’ve come to expect. All the blissful elements from the original have been reinvented in a really creative way as well. Chopped and edited for a more rhythmic vibe the vocal elements morph into ethereal lines which flow wonderfully throughout production. The main break is the real highlight though; staggeringly gorgeous with all those incandescent tones and shifting textures providing a breathtaking centrepiece. Outstanding work from Mohn (NL). Can’t wait to hear more as 2015 progresses.
The second and final interpretation of ‘Forest Nautica’ is provided by Lucefora who is making his second appearance on 3rd Avenue. The Argentinean producer last appeared on the Belgian imprint with his ‘Enjoy The Trip’ production which was included on the labels ‘We Are The Future’ Fall 2014 EP. BQ Recordings and Clinique Recordings also appear on his discography and 2015 looks to be his biggest year yet. Lucefora’s deep, melodic sound has melded well with the ‘Forest Nautica’ themes. Rooted by a massive kick and warm walls of sub bass it carries the biggest presence on the release by far. Dancing melodies and bubbly textures carry the track quite well and an assortment of vocal pads and subtle modulation dazzle your senses along the way. The magic moment comes just following a tension filled break and massive build when the warm harmonics are allowed to breathe amidst a flurry of sweeping vocal edits. Exhilarating stuff from Lucefora and a really well rounded release from 3rd Avenue. Don’t miss it.
