The 21st release on Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music sees the label boss returning to the spotlight. Nikko last appeared on his home imprint with the much talked about ‘Slope’ single which was remixed by Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile in August of this year. His newest offering ‘Insane’ looks set to be one of his strongest productions to date and gets 2014 off to a great start for Dopamine.

Nikko’s Original mix gets underway with a punchy groove that’s well complemented with deep stabs and crunchy electronics. Well sequenced chord changes take the rhythms to new heights and reveal a gorgeous melodic theme. Nikko`s poignant keys dance around with a delicate ease while a unique vocal hook further enhances the groove. The main break sees the growling underbelly flow through some wicked modulation while the glassy keys add an otherworldly vibe which is both trippy and emotional. The grinding foundation gathers some serious momentum over the second half and morphs it’s way to an exhilarating finish with Nikko’s classy melodic theme adding the perfect emotional touch. An ‘Alt Mix’ has also been provided which sees Nikko crafting a drummy and more groove oriented first half before presenting the strong melodic themes during the tension filled main drop. The magnificent conclusion is filled with a wealth of complexity but not lost in this vast sonic soundscape is the great emotion captured in the original which might just be Nikko’s most creative creation to date.
