Lee Ager`s Soulfire Downloads presents its first release of 2013 this week and it sees No Sonic Limits making his debut on the label. Lars Knudson aka No Sonic Limits is one of the few progressive house producers that we know of from Denmark and this will be his first new original production in over two years as he’s been focusing on remix work for labels like OLD SQL, Mistique, Deepsessions and Elliptical Sun. His debut for Soulfire is entitled ‘Skydiving’ and it comes with remixes from Matteo Monero and Enno Jesse.
The ‘Skydiving’ original leads the release off with a well shaped acid bass line, soft rhythmic tones and some spacey electronics complete with great modulation. With the energy all ready rolling a big wobbly synth lead drops in along with some nice vocal snips for an extra charge of forward momentum. A big moment occurs when after a wistful breakdown a dangerously catchy vocal hook gets introduced along with the momentous groove. The irresistible vocals along with some powerful melodic lines propel the track to an epic finish that makes us ask why doesn’t No Sonic Limits do more originals? 🙂
The first remix comes from Enno Jesse who is making his return to Soulfire for his second appearance following his remix of Michael King’s ‘Windsor’ from May of 2012. The German producer has made several appearances on the Orange Stripes label over the last year and has also had productions on Bavaria and Samplefreunde. Enno’s ‘Skydiving’ interpretation proves to be a great complement to No Sonic Limits big original as it comes with a somewhat deeper, smoother vibe. The track is rooted with a very club friendly, percussive groove with a warm wall of sub bass which drives it nicely. The catchy vocals are chopped up and used to great effect as well which really adds to the already monstrous groove. The serene drop serves to showcase the bubbly hypnotic lines which slowly build back up around the framework for a huge finish. Great remix from Enno.
The final remix on the package comes from Matteo Monero who is making his first appearance on Soulfire here. The Italian producer had a great 2012 with a string of solid productions on Mistique, OLD SQL, Elliptical Sun, Future Synth, Bonzai and Baroque. Matteo’s ‘Skydiving’ remix is currently in the top 20 of our overall Hype Chart and looks to be the Italian’s strongest production to date. Matteo’s transformed No Sonic Limits big room bomb into a another one of his smooth melodic beauties. A well shaped rolling bass line sits at the foundation as the soaring, celestial sounding pads fill the atmosphere along with some irresistible electronic hooks. Grinding tones and tasteful chord changes add some superb emotional moments as the track drives forward towards the main break. The drop exudes even more emotion as the flickering accents give way to a gorgeous piano line before the big groove reappears for a building melodic finish to the record. Certainly one of Matteo’s best remixes to date and an all round fabulous release from Lee Ager’s Soulfire Downloads. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 20 http://releasepromo.com/
