Or Weisinger’s ‘These Moments’ was originally released on Sound Avenue’s ‘Summer Sampler 2013’. It was the Israeli producer’s label debut following two inspired appearances on Crossfade Sounds. ‘These Moments’ showcased Or’s unique cross genre style once again and proved to be one of the standout selections from Sound Avenue’s 2013 catalog. Now for the labels 34th overall release we see two brand new interpretations from Giddyhead and Andrew McDonnell.

Giddyhead has been a member of the Sound Avenue label family since his first appearance on Crossfade Sounds from November of 2013. More recently the Argentinean producer completed a remix for Genius Spark’s ‘Eternity’ which was released on Stripped Digital earlier this month. For his ‘These Moments’ interpretation Giddyhead has completely overhauled the track and crafted a fresh ambient rework. The evolving textures and bubbly hypnotic tones lay down a lovely soundscape early on and as the modulation gradually intensifies a subtle tension is soon realized. Giddyhead’s shifty tones lead to the introduction of some truly epic bass swells which are not only warm and inviting but also incredibly epic. It provides a marvellous apex and the cool down period of meandering atmospheres and light-hearted tones is equally exciting. Excellent stuff from Giddyhead.

The second and final interpretation of ‘These Moments’ comes from one of my favourite Canadian producers Andrew McDonnell. A firm staple in Toronto’s cutting edge DJ culture Andrew has quite an impressive gig resume. Having appeared alongside Guy J, Eelke Kleijn and Quiiver he would have to be considered one of Canada’s best DJ talents. Andrew’s productions are just as impressive as his smooth flowing DJ sets and his interpretation of ‘These Moments’ is one of his finest yet. Andrew has taken all the unique rhythmic elements from Or’s original and crafted a much smoother more hypnotic complement which is exactly what the release needed. With support coming in from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa and Darin Epsilon expect to be hearing this one a lot in the coming months. Superb release from Sound Avenue which again sets the label apart with the variety and originality included here.
