Pedro Aguiar – Ego Tripping (Lost & Found)

Lost & Found returns with three tracks from Portuguese talent Pedro Aguiar, who is following up a superb EP for Flow Vinyl last month.

Itโ€™s easy to see why the deep and hypnotic progressive sounds of โ€˜Ego Trippingโ€™ appealed so much to Guy J, with its slow and steady build, cool effects, and its lovely trancey undertones as it heads into the breakdown. Thereโ€™s talk of a Guy J remix of this one in the works, so youโ€™ll want to look out for that!

โ€˜Perceptionsโ€™ is similar in feel, with drifting pads giving way to a low slung bassline and discreet but driving stabs, while cleverly-used vocal samples add tension and texture. The breakdown see Pedro Aguiar throw in some subtle melodies, before he builds things up to a great drop.

Finally, โ€˜6AM Againโ€™ is the most distinctive and experimental of the three tracks, with Pedro Aguiar floating eerie melodies over gentle kicks, metallic percussive loops, and a relentless bassline, whileย steering things to a dreamy conclusion.

Pedro Aguiar once again proves that progressive house is alive and well with these three excellent new tracks โ€“ recommended!
