Our feature interview from last week Praveen Achary celebrates the inaugural release on his new Juicebox Music imprint this week. The Juicebox brand is  already quite strong with a very successful radio show on frisky and  now looks to develop its digital imprint which promises to be one of the best new labels of 2013. The labels first release comes from Praveen and fellow countryman Vipul who have just come off having their remix of D-Eye’s ‘Pulse’ selected by Beatport as the no.2 Must Hear Progressive House for last week. The duos first original production together and first Juicebox single is entitled ‘Future Echoes’ and it comes with remixes from: Santiago Garcia and Cactus Twisters.

‘Future Echoes’ begins with a deep and polished groove that provides a warm hypnotic hum for some nice early momentum. Delicately  chirping stabs, spacey atmospheric sweeps and subtle melodic themes carry the track to the main break. Here the tantalizing sound design and natural atmospheric backdrop create a wonderfully surreal vibe that sounds completely timeless. The warm, rolling groove returns with a tastefully understated flair which carries the record to an invigorating finish. The overall sense of refinement and detail is what’s really impressive here and all without losing sight of the dance floor. Outstanding.

The first interpretation comes from one of the Baires Records bosses Santiago Garcia who has quickly grown into one of Argentina’s most exciting producers. Santiago continues to earn legions of fans and with his  recent appearance on Hernan Cattaneo’s Renaissance CD along with outings on Flow and Proton he shows no signs of slowing down. Santiago’s ‘Future Echoes’ remix adds a little more dance floor oomph to the deep and delicate original. In keeping with the main atmospheric and melodic themes Santiago has beefed up the drums and crafted a unique twist on the bass line for a floor rocking interpretation.

The final remix comes from the Belgian duo Cactus Twisters who first came to our attention with their remix of Cristior’s Lissome’ on Mirabilis Records in August of 2012. Jey and Ka make up the Cactus Twisters duo and have also appeared on Qilla Records, Dubmetrical, MB Electronics and Stripped. The duos unique blend of house sounds and techno grooves have earned them support from a wide array of DJs including Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J. Cactus Twisters have delivered a deep and drummy version of ‘Future Echoes’ which retains much of the subtle melodic beauty form the original but transforms the tracks framework into a perfect back room construction.  An amazing debut for Praveen Achary’s Juicebox Music who we expect to be one of 2013’s best new labels. Highly Recommended. Release Promo Hype Chart #4
