The latest release on Balkan Connection South America finds the label showcasing new interpretations of ‘Polymers’ by Rick Pier O’Neil and Desaturate.
Originally released on Proton’s Particles imprint in September of this year the deep melodic number was part of the duo’s ‘Spirals’ EP. Now we see BCSA calling upon Loquai and label boss Nicholas Van Orton to reinvent the track.
The first interpretation is provided by Loquai who is making his 14th appearance on BCSA. The Russian born Germany based producer recently started his Refined Tunes imprint which looks to be one of this year’s most promising new labels, while most recently he teamed up with Ewan Rill for the Beatport Top 10 ‘Recollection of Past’s’ released just last week on Stellar Fountain. Now Loquai brings his skills to ‘Polymers’ with a deeper, slightly warmer take which complements the original really well. Again the unmistakable bass lines and subtle atmospherics of Loquai’s work really shines. Those massive walls of sub-bass are beautifully covered with lush textures and just a hint of the motifs from the original, all heightening the emotions perfectly. Gorgeous remix from Loquai.
The second and final interpretation of ‘Polymers’ is provided by Nicholas Van Orton who is making his 52nd appearance on what is his home imprint. A veteran of the deep Argentinean scene Nicholas recently released his ‘Guerrero Jaguar Amarillo’ which was selected by Beatport as the #1 track for the week and also earned a spot in their Top 100 chart. Now Nicholas drops another gorgeous creation with his remix of ‘Polymers’. His immaculately carved grooves are unmistakable, the attention to detail and contoured design is beautiful to listen to. The seemingly lowered tempo combined with a deeper groove, subtle stabs and a wealth of cool textures all make for another beautiful journey. It rounds out the release nicely and complements the previous two versions perfectly. A great remix edition once again from BCSA that is not to be missed.
