Rodrigo Mateo – Harmony Of The Spheres (Soundteller Records)

Deersky’s Soundteller Records is back this week with their sixth overall release. It features the debut of one of the hottest up and comers from Argentina Rodrigo Mateo to the label. Rodrigo has been impressing everyone over the last year with his outstanding productions for Juicebox, Dopamine, Baires and Sangria. Rodrigo’s new school progressive sound has been a firm favourite of Hernan Cattaneo’s in recent months and we have been loving the cool musicality of his productions since we heard ‘Stereotypes’ on Baires from last summer. Rodrigo’s debut single for Soundteller is entitled ‘Harmony Of The Spheres’ and it comes with a remix from Micrologue.

Rodrigo’s original has an amazing, gritty sound that’s filled with lots of character. Clever key sequences add a unique melodic flare as the track builds and soon another amazing musical theme is formed. There is a brilliant contrast between the angelic top end and the grungy sounding foundation of glitchy electronics. This is powerful stuff that really delivers a huge emotional impact. We absolutely love it, one of Rodrigo’s best to date.

The lone remix is provided by Micrologue who is also making his first appearance on Soundteller. The German producer has been wowing electronic music fans over the last several years with his unique melodic techno sound on Inlab and Grrreat Recordings. Micrologue’s ‘Harmony Of The Spheres’ remix puts a deep techno spin on the gorgeous elements from the original. The punchy beats and dark undertones set a moody vibe that slowly grows into something really stunning. It’s a haunting and deeply emotional piece of electronic music that’s still perfect for the dance floor. Top notch release from Deersky’s Soundteller and we think it’s the best on the label thus far. There is real magic on this release so don’t miss it.
