Scotty.A – Next Chapter (Remix Edition) [Stellar Fountain]

Scotty.A

Stellar Fountain returns this week with a new installment of their much loved Remix Edition Series.

Scotty.A

Originally released in November of 2015, Scotty.A’s ‘Next Chapter’ was a standout selection from his ‘Tomorrow’ EP (courtesy of Proton Music). It’s groovy, late night nature was warm and alluring and it remains one of Scotty’s best selling tracks, as it currently sits at #3 in his Beatport sales chart. Stellar Fountain now gives the piece new life with interpretations from MiraculuM and Tomek.

The first interpretation of ‘Next Chapter’ is provided by MiraculuM who Stellar Fountain fans know as one of the owners and founders of the label. The Hungarian producer has had many career hallmarks over the course of his five year discography. After appearing on the Nick Warren headed Renaissance Masters Series Mix in 2013 MiraculuM then went on to release his debut album courtesy of Stripped Recordings earlier this year. For his ‘Next Chapter’ interpretation MiraculuM has reshaped the piece into a throbbing groover with an abundance of drive and energy. The Hungarian’s productions generally come with a quirky, left of centre vibe so this was an intriguing remix for him no doubt. For the most part he’s abandoned those tendencies here and keep things quite smooth and marvellously spaced out. A metallic key motif highlights the main break while some broken, shifty percussion along with a subtle melodic build throughout the third act make for what is likely MiraculuM’s best ever remix. Outstanding work.

The second and final interpretation of ‘Next Chapter’ is provided by Tomek who is making his fifth appearance on Stellar Fountain. The Hungarian producer pretty much began his career on the label with his second ever production ‘In Your Memory’ getting released courtesy of Stellar’s Deep division. For his ‘Next Chapter’ interpretation Tomek has stripped the track down a touch and reworked it into a bassy, hypnotic groover that should fare well in the morning hours. The lead motif comes with more of a melancholic air about it, particularly during the main break as it sits against some glowing pads, which deliver some lovely second half moments. Great remix from Tomek which rounds out another hugely successful Remix Edition for Stellar Fountain. Don’t miss it.
