Balkan Connection returns this week with a little help from Proton Music. Silinder’s ‘Corrupt’ EP was released on Proton in September of 2012. The two track EP contained the atmospheric tech house bomb entitled ‘Penthouse’. The production proved to be not only one of Proton’s best selling tracks but also a firm favourite of many DJs. For Balkan Connection’s 226th release they present us with two brand new versions of ‘Penthouse’ from: Jelly For The Babies and Scotty A.

The first remix comes from one of Balkan Connection’s biggest and most well known artists Jelly For The Babies. Serbian producer Marijan Raskovic aka Jelly For The Babies continues his assault on the global progressive house scene with amazing production after amazing production. Equally adept at producing club friendly progressive bombs or dreamy, atmospheric cuts that pull at your emotions Jelly For The Babies remains one of the more versatile and prolific producers in progressive house. Here Marijan has opted for a spacey atmospheric interpretation which really hits the spot. Full of wavering hypnotic lines, long spacey sweeps and haunting vocal stabs this is another amazing journey into sound from the Serbian producer.

The second and final interpretation on the release comes from Scotty.A who is returning to Balkan Connection for his sixth overall appearance. The UK producer has just come off an appearance on DAR Digital’s exceptional ‘Showcase 001’ compilation which continues to do very well in the Beatport Progressive House charts. Scotty’s ‘Penthouse’ interpretation comes in with a cool, funky, tech house vibe that’s going to cross several genres with ease. The aquatic bass stabs really stand out as they carve out a cavernous groove that’s going to be dynamite on the dance floor. As with most of Scotty’s productions it’s his refined subtlety that drags you in. The slow, creeping atmospheric qualities which really hit their peak at around the five minute mark is what’s going to make this a treat on the more educated dance floors out there. Outstanding release from Balkan Connection which ranks right up there with their best this year. Highly Recommended. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 25
