Balkan Connection’s 300th release features Soulwerk’s ‘The Lost Paradise’ getting the BC Edition remix treatment from Luis Bondio and Ewan Rill.
Balkan Connection returns this week for what is not only the labels monumental 300th release but also one of its best ever offerings. Soulwerk’s ‘The Lost Paradise’ was released on Proton Music in March of this year as part of the ‘Searching For You Through The Stars’ EP. It was one of the standout releases on the label this year and it gets remodelled to perfection by Luis Bondio and Ewan Rill here.
We last heard from Luis Bondio with his remix of Pedro Aguiar’s ‘Sonic Canvas’ which was released in July on Luis’ Classound Recordings. 2014 has seen some of Luis’s best work with an appearance on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeats 2 Compilation and additional outings on Movement Recordings and Proton Music. Remixing a track as exceptional as ‘The Lost Paradise’ is a daunting talk but Luis has delivered one of his best ever productions here. With a funky, more house oriented foundation Luis has radically revamped the track and added his own fresh hooks along with a timeless club vibe. This has a very broad appeal and stretches far beyond the progressive house underground. Expect to see the housier DJs all over this as well. Brilliant remix from Luis.
The second and final interpretation of ‘The Lost Paradise’ is provided by Ewan Rill. The Russian producer is making his 51st appearance on Balkan Connection and continues to be one of the most prolific progressive house producers around. For his ‘The Lost Paradise’ remix Ewan has delivered a big club oriented rework with bold bass stabs, charging drums and those amazing musical hooks from the original. The party vibes on this record are very strong and it’s a great complement to Luis’ deeper, housier and more refined version. It would also have to be considered one of Ewan’s biggest and also best remixes this year. It rounds out a perfect offering from Balkan Connection who celebrate their 300th release in fine style
