Balkan Connections 249th release is out this week and it sees the label getting ready for the much anticipated Amsterdam Dance Event which is quickly approaching. Balkan Connection Goes To Amsterdam is a 9 track compilation that has been compiled by Label manager Milos and also Dutch producer Marc Pollen. There are brand new exclusive tracks included from: Jelly For The Babies, Odiso, Vanyano, Ewan Rill, Sjoerd Korsuize, Yoram, Stas Drive, Magnetic Brothers, Marc Pollen and Oscar Holgado.
All nine cuts really offer something exceptional but there are three that really standout for us. The Magnetic Brothers latest creation ‘Soul’s Memories’ is sitting just on the outside of the top 25 of our overall Hype Chart and it’s one of the duo’s coolest works yet. It’s a brooding, melancholic sounding theme that Arthur and Anton have come up with here and it’s perfectly presented with the backing of an intricate framework and a wealth of delicate melodic ideas. Strong stuff from the Magnetic Brothers.
Vanyano’s ‘Canis Majoris’ has also been receiving some great feedback and sits quite high in our overall Hype Chart at #34. The Bosnia based producer is now making his ninth appearance on Balkan Connection and was included on the huge Baires compilation that was released just last week. ‘Canis Majoris’ is one of his grooviest works to date. The fresh club oriented vibes are silky smooth and the muffled vocal samples are cool and unique. It’s really all the rhythmic elements that seem to blend together so well that makes this such a great club tune though. Awesome stuff from Vanyano.
The third and final track that we’d like to showcase here is from Stas Drive who is definitely someone you’ll be hearing a lot more about over the next year. The Ukrainian producer has really broken through of late with projects forthcoming for both Guy J’s Lost & Found and microCastle. His ‘Arkaim’ production included here might be his most unique work to date. The distinctively themed piece is full of groove and really creative melodic ideas throughout. The distinctive chimes and soul drenched harmonics seem never ending and it’s a journey that will remain with you for a long while. Superb work from Stas and an excellent collection from Balkan Connection.
