Weird Sounding Dude – N52A3 (Genesis Music)

Weird Sounding Dude - N52A3

The latest release on Michael A’s Genesis Music welcomes Weird Sounding Dude to the label for a new single.

Weird Sounding Dude - N52A3

We last heard from the Indian producer when his ‘Balnazzar’ production was released on Traum’s ‘Tour De Traum X’ compilation in July of this year. The rolling, hypnotic wonder was a stand out on the collection and his latest ‘N52A3’ looks to best that accompanied by a remix from Tech D.

Weird Sounding Dude has always enjoyed a place in the progressive underground. His trademark chuggy grooves and squelchy rhythms are sure to satisfy the old school fans but there are always a few surprises along the way as well. Offset drums create a unique cadence at the tracks outset while a band of sweeping noise trails through the framework, eventually initiating the break where things go big and a touch epic. Wavering synths and a haunting vocal pad create the ultimate haze of harmonic bliss before a quick drop brings the beats and electric groove back in for a wicked moment. Huge work from Weird Sounding Dude.

The lone remix of ‘N52A3’ is provided by Tech D who is making his first appearance on Genesis Music. Ukrainian producer Igor Yevtushenko aka Tech D first appeared with a release on Denis A’s DAR Digital in 2011. Over the course of the next four years he went on to appear on the label three additional times and also released on Manual Music, Magic Room and Stereo Paradise. 2015 has already featured some of Tech D’s most inspired work to date with his ‘Helios’ EP released courtesy Balkan Connection being one of the most recent. For his ‘N52A3’ interpretation Tech D has gone deeper and more spacious with great results. The Ukrainian’s intricate framework gets adorned with wispy harmonic refrains and bubbly bass stabs before several melodic motifs get intertwined. This carries the track into a lovely break with smooth bass changes and luminous designs leading the emotional content. A slow, deliberate build culminates with a rush of white noise and perfectly understated re-entry. A nice remix from Tech D and a great end to another solid release for Michael A’s Genesis Music. Don’t miss it.
