Wej – Connected Part 2 (Clinique Recordings)

Wej - Connected

The latest release on Clinique Recordings features the return of Wej to the label.

Wej - Connected

The French producer has been one of the Russian’s imprint’s most consistent artists. This is his seventh appearance on Clinique and he has also appeared on sister label BQ Recordings three times as well. His latest single ‘Connected’ looks to be one of his best yet and comes with a remix from the always excellent Lonya.

For those that follow Wej you know he’s pretty diverse in terms of sound. Some of his productions can be a bit more proggy while others focus on a deeper more atmospheric sound. On ‘Connected’ the French producer has delivered a deep and groovy dance floor production that’s loaded with energy. It all starts with a very well contoured groove that sits at the records foundation. It’s round lines are incredibly catchy and the way it flows is super smooth. The introduction of some shimmering atmospheres and unique vocal elements during the drop build some wonderful anticipation before a subtle build then lets the beats loose for a rocking conclusion. A simple but very effective track from Wej.

The lone interpretation of ‘Connected’ is provided by Lonya who is making his first appearance on Clinique Recordings. The Israeli based artist has been a favourite of mine for quite some time and he’s already gotten the year off to a great start. His remix (in conjunction with Guy Mantzur) of Dave Seaman on Sudbeat Music was released with resounding success just two weeks ago and he’s followed that up with a wicked interpretation of ‘Connected’. Lonya has reshaped the best elements from the original into a tech house version that carries amazing groove and cadence. Fueled by bouncy rhythms and wavering tones it’s a mix that not only carries some solid dance floor weight but also works your emotions quite nicely. Beautiful remix from Lonya and a great release from Clinique Recordings. Don’t miss it.
