Yulia Niko Curates Body Language Vol. 26 for Get Physical

Few artists capture the shifting pulse of underground electronic music quite like Yulia Niko.

Known for her meticulous productions and forward-thinking DJ sets, the Berlin- and Ibiza-based artist now delivers the latest installment of Get Physicalโ€™s landmark compilation series: Body Language Vol. 26.

Launched in 2005, the Body Language series has become a cornerstone of the scene, spotlighting defining selectors like Booka Shade, WhoMadeWho, and andhim. Each edition offers more than a mixโ€”itโ€™s a curated narrative of where house and techno are headed. With Vol. 26, Yulia Niko adds her voice to that legacy, balancing respect for the seriesโ€™ history with her own unmistakable signature.

The compilation unfolds across eleven tracks, threading together originals, collaborations, and remixes that highlight Nikoโ€™s range. From the radiant piano-driven house of So In Love With You to the darker shades of Bad Habitsโ€”a brooding rework of Jenny Burtonโ€™s 1985 anthem, co-produced with Alfonso Muchachoโ€”the album moves with purpose. A skeletal, hypnotic reimagining of Reworkโ€™s Just Just underscores her ability to strip tracks down to pure essence.

At its core lies Takina, an unreleased collaboration with Alexey Union and Kinky Sound that crystallizes the compilationโ€™s ethos. Taut yet expansive, the track blends atmospheric grooves with delicate injections of ethnic instrumentation, achieving a rare balance of emotional depth and dancefloor impact.

Elsewhere, Yulia reinterprets material from Helsloot, Calussa & Malone, and Chelonis R. Jones, reshaping each with her refined ear for tension, space, and groove. The result is a compilation that commands attention without relying on excessโ€”music that feels timeless while speaking directly to the present moment.

Nikoโ€™s career continues to blur the lines between festival main stages and intimate clubs, with appearances at Coachella sitting alongside sets in underground basements. That same duality runs deep in Body Language Vol. 26, cementing her position as one of the most vital voices in contemporary electronic music.
