Blusoul – Modular Memories (Lost & Found)

Greece’s Blusoul comes up with another melodic proggy winner on his debut on Lost & Found, while Guy Mantzur returns to the label to take Blusoul’s track to even loftier heights.

‘Modular Memories’ is atmospheric yet chunky, with rippling melodies, icy-cool vocal snippets, powerful key changes carried by a chugging, persistent bassline, an irresistible, spacey hook, and dreamy pads. It’s not hard to see why this one got Guy J’s attention, and Blusoul makes sure there’s no let-up in the loveliness across the track’s 8 minutes.

Guy Mantzur is hardly a stranger to Lost & Found, with his joint album with Sahar Z, ‘Time’, still standing as one of the best LPs of recent years. Guy’s remix gives the track a menacing, low-slung bassline, which together with some moodier bass tones acts as a fantastic counterpoint to his delicate, chiming interpretation of Blusoul’s melodic ideas. As a bonus, the breakdown is even more heart-melting than the rest of the track prepares you for.

This is a delight from Lost & Found, with a touching original from Blusoul, and yet another superlative remix from Guy Mantzur. ’nuff said.
