Guy Jโs Lost & Found imprint is back for its 13th release, with the man himself at the helm, offering up two new progressive house cuts, โDizzy Momentsโ and โDiasporaโ.
โDizzy Momentsโ is a gentle, melodic affair, pitched somewhere between Guy Jโs more typical progressive sound and melodic techno. The heart of the track is the delicate, rippling main theme, echoed by the subdued bass part, while the percussion is treated with a similarly light touch. The beauty of the track and its lengthy outro will ensure that itโs destined to close out a lot of sets over the coming summer months.
โDiasporaโ is a bit more clubby, with a pulsing bassline, sci-fi effects, and heavy kicks, but the warm sweeps that appear after a minute and a half are an early clue that Guy Jโs melodic touch is in full effect here too. A brief breakdown introduces trancier elements, before the percussion is let off the hook and the track really comes to life. The trance lines are brought to the fore later in the track during a slightly longer breakdown, now accompanied by gentle chimes, and this time Guy J lets the melodies float over the warm bassline as the track climbs out of the breakdown, giving โDiasporaโ its best sequence.
Both tracks here are really nice, though its clear that โDizzy Momentsโ boasts much stronger ideas, and is set to create a bigger stir. All in, this is another very strong release for Guy J and Lost & Found. 8.5/10
