Marking the third release on his new En Couleur ย imprint,ย Loco Diceย continues with three-track EP โThe Sentenceโ, out September 4th. It follows on from ย โD-Town Playazโ ย – a collaboration with Detroit legendย Eddie Fowlkes – and โSweet Nectar Blossomโ.
The new EP opens with โBackyardย Movesโ, a slick house cut that pairs raw, breezy aesthetics with old school vocal samples. Next up is title track โThe Sentenceโ, a proper jackinโ house jam, before โIn The Moodโ, the deepest track of the three, makes use of a seductive acid bassline underneath a laid-back talking Dice – with a positive attitude and the message that heโs ready for whatever comes next.
Translating to “in colour” in French, En Couleur is reserved exclusively for the Dusseldorf artistโs music. The name of the label was chosen because ย โcolour stands for the diversity of cultures I absorb and artists I meet on my life journey,โ ย Diceย explains. โLots of things I do in my life appear in colour. The music I produce is like my movie in technicolor, and the music I play is sorted by colour in my crates and folders.โ
Dice has also been busy hosting his all-new talk show โ3 Is The Magic Numberโ on Instagram Live. Having kicked off onย 26th April with fellow dance music legend ย Carl Craig, the weekly show sees him chat to a new guest each week about theirย โall time favourite threeโ . This could be anything from albums to movies to books to games, with guests coming from the worlds of fashion, hip-hop, art, fashion, sports and of course electronic music. Following on from Craig,ย Grammy-winning music mogul Diplo, Paradiseย founder Jamie Jones and Italian rap legendย Guรจ Pequeno, Skin of Skunk Anansie and a hit producer Carnage were among those who were featured.
But back to The Sentence! Itโs another stellar EP made up of raw, infectious club tracks, Loco Dice continues to prove that lockdown ought to be no obstacle to making great music.
