UMEK is back on 1605 with a unique blend of opera and techno

Available In Stores July 24th

UMEK is back on his label 1605 with another whopping techno track titled “Distinct Operator”.

2020 has been another massive year for UMEK with numerous tracks charting No.1 on download stores like Beatport and he does not show any signs of slowing down any time soon.

His own label 1605 has become a main outlet for his music, but he has also featured on other topflight labels including Filth On Acid, Suara, Tronic and Intec.

Maintaining a career that has spanned over two decades he has rolled with the punches and continually evolved to remain one of the most relevant artists in the techno genre.

“Distinct Operator” is his latest track and it’s taken from a VA called “Desiderati 4.3” that features three other tracks by Dok&Martin, Julien Earle and a collaboration between Uto Karem and Gaston Zani.

We are excited to premiere Distinct Operator which is a unique blend of techno and opera which is a combination of genres perhaps done for the first time. UMEK’s hard percussion and uplifting synth lines merge perfectly with the opera sample used in the breakdown to create a moment of mind-blowing emotion.
