The latest release on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic’s Mistique Music welcomes AudioStorm back to the label for a brand new EP.

AudioStorm

The Montenegrin artist is having the best year of his career, an EP on Tash’s Movement Recordings has proved to be some of his finest ever work and he is quickly becoming his country’s most recognizable figure for progressive house having shared the stage with Guy J and Hernan Cattaneo. Now returning to Mistique Music for his 10th appearance Audiostorm presents his latest 2 track EP entitled ‘Lust & Revenge’.

A more mystical sound was explored on AudioStorm’s Movement Recordings EP and it continues here with the EP’s first selection ‘Double Desire’. Beginning with a dark, foreboding atmosphere the track flows with cosmic sweeps and beefy drums surrounding the framework. Spacey electronics are a prominent theme, ultimately leading the track into the main break where the drum elements build an underlying tension. A smooth build welcomes the beats back with a wonderful restraint before an additional arp makes for an even more rhythmic conclusion. A great start to the EP.

The companion and title piece ‘Lust & Revenge’ comes in a touch more serene with a lovely atmosphere and glimmering pads at the outset. Feathered sweeps and an indistinct vocal loop lead to the introduction of a blocky clap and some lovely aquatic designs. The vocal storyboard grows with more distinct gates panning through the framework while long spacey sweeps descend over the groove. There’s a bit of cinematic vibe happening here before a low end, virus-like rumble initiates a short but timely break. Highlighted by angelic pads and a rugged drum build, the beats eventually drop amidst the trailing vocals and a sheet of white noise. A wonderful moment and a great way to round out another excellent release on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic’s Mistique Music. Don’t miss it.
