Nicholas Van Orton - Fya / Otro Martes Remixes (Balkan Connection South America)

The latest release on Balkan Connection South America finds the label presenting new remixes of Nicholas Van Orton’s ‘Fya’ and ‘Otro Martes’.

Original released in June of 2016 it showcased the BCSA label boss at his best with two groovy, progressive minded productions. The release reached #13 in Beatport’s Progressive House chart and now we see the label inviting Nicolas Rada and GMJ to reinvent the tracks for 2017.

Nicolas Rada has become a core artist on the BCSA roster. Since making his debut in July of 2009 the Argentinean artist has gone on to appear on the label 42 times. He’s also become a favourite of Hernan Cattaneo and is regularly seen dominating the Beatport Progressive charts. Nicolas’ interpretation of ‘Fya’ is spot on once again with his trademark chugging, percussive style. Also deeply hypnotic it’s flows with a mesmerizing cadence throughout. A stripped break keeps the groove locked for the most part, until a short section of noise delivers the final charge. Brilliant remix from Nicolas.

The release concludes with GMJ making his first appearance on BCSA. A recent single for 3rd Avenue along with remixes for Balkan Connection and Northern Lights Music have all showcased his creative prowess while perhaps the crown jewel in his discography remains an appearance on Cid Inc’s Replug Records. Here he takes Nicholas’s ‘Otro Martes’ into dreamier territory which closes the release out very strong. There’s always a unique sense of storytelling in GMJ’s productions rather than a tracky feel. This has that as well with an evolving narrative peaking after a luminous break sets the stage perfectly. Another stunning remix from GMJ and a great remix pack from Balkan Connection South America. Don’t miss it.
