Rona (IL) is an Israeli artist whose got an exquisite deep and melodic style. Not only is she a talented producer, but also an angelic vocalist whose combined skills are perfect for creating uplifting tracks full of atmosphere.

Most recently, Rona dropped a new release on the iconic Dutch label Manual Music, which has previously released tracks from similar-sounding artists such as Eagles & Butterflies, Tim Engelhardt and Eelke Kleijn.

The EP called “We Are” opens with the title cut that has a deep and stripped back backing track overlayered by Rona’s own intimate vocal. With rattling high-end percussion and soothing strings, it is a delicate cut with a sensual sound that is easy to get lost in. Mesmerising with just the right amount of euphoria, its hypnotising groove will send you into a trance on the dance floor.

We Are is the only original on the release, but it is supported by two stunning remixes by LevK plus a collaborative effort from Kamilo Sanclemente & Mauro Aguirre.

LevK of labels such as Go Deeva and Nite Grooves, is first up with his remix which adds a glockenspiel style melody that fills out the track to give the groove additional momentum. Staying true to the core elements from the original, he subtly beefs up the sound to create a version that eloquently unfolds like the leaves of a blooming flower.

Kamilo Sanclemente & Mauro Aguirre close the release with their dub rework that swaps the vocals for additional pads and synth parts. Bringing a middle eastern vibe with their choice of melodies, they transform the track into an epic version that paints pictures of exotic landscapes.

Overall a great EP for fans of the melodic genre that would not sound out of place in the DJ sets of people like Lee Burridge, Guy J or YokoO.
