Sabo and Amine K team up for an EP on Sol Selectas

Neither Sol Selectas or Sabo are new on the scene and both the label or its owner should need much of an introduction to fans of their genre.

Sabo is of course an accomplished DJ whose spiritual take on electronic music ties in with the ethos of his label Sol Selectas.

Mixing uplifting melodies with pinpoint percussion, Sol Selectas is a label that many artists aspire to feature music on having worked with many leading artists ranging from Nicola Cruz to Nico Stojan, and the new release features original tracks from Sabo himself.

Complementing the original tracks is a remix from Matthias Meyer, whose accomplished talents in the studio have proven popular time and time again and his previous remix work has been for the likes of Anjunadeep and Bedrock.

For the two original cuts Sabo has collaborated with Amine K and together the pair have compiled tracks with a contemporary sound that incorporates elements from the music of Moroccan folk sounds.

Amine K is a Moroccan artist celebrating his heritage here, plus with Sabo’s love of traveling, the EP concept has been to capture the sound of the busy streets of Marrakesh where the duo made the tracks.

The tracks are a result of a recording session with some musicians and a vocalist who sing and play instruments traditional to Moroccan culture, and Matthias Meyer has furthered this interesting concept with his streamlined remix.

With lots percussive parts, the energetic vibe of the EP’s opening track and title cut “Tiniri” has things starting with a bang, before the mood slowly drops as Matthias Meyer’s remix leads into the more subdued “Amanar”.
