Eze Ramirez – Began EP (Sound Avenue)

The latest release on Sound Avenue welcomes Eze Ramirez back to the label for a brand new EP.

The Argentinean artist last appeared on the Belgian imprint in collaboration with label boss Madloch, where the duo crafted the critically acclaimed ‘Forward Thinking’. Now following a year filled with support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren Eze makes his return to Sound Avenue presenting his much anticipated ‘Began’ EP.

As 2016 unfolded Eze’s borderless sound evolved with productions that were not only championed by progressive house a-listers but tech and deep house DJs alike. The title cut ‘Began’ will only further that with its club friendly framework and soulful vocals. Deep and dark in all the right ways, the first act flows effortlessly as growling synths come in dramatic waves. The storyboard unfolds in the second act, slowly stripping down as percussive elements cut through the atmosphere, before the swing heavy groove returns for a reflective road home. A masterful production from Eze with Nick Warren being one of the first to chime in with support, featuring it all across his recent Argentina tour.

The companion piece ‘I’m Neutral’ finds Eze exploring a more modern, techno inspired style. Anchored by a chugging groove, momentum builds quickly as wonky tones cascade across the framework. Percussive waves further the hypnotic qualities, carrying through the main break, before a moment of silence sets up a tasteful drop. A nod to the present while still in keeping with a timeless spirit and a perfect complement to ‘Began’. Two stunning productions from Eze which makes for another top notch offering from Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint. Highly Recommended.
