The 24th release on Baires Records is out this week and it features the debut of Pedro Aguiar to the label. Pedro hails from Portugal and began his production career a short 20 months ago with several releases on Baroque. 2012 saw Pedro with additional releases on Plastic City and Tech Soul which earned support from: Guy J, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Danny Howells. Pedro’s 2013 has gotten off to an amazing start with his ‘Voices In My Head’ composition appearing on Nick Warren’s Renaissance Masters compilation. Pedro’s debut single for Baires is entitled ‘Closer’ and it looks to be one of the labels biggest to date as it comes with remixes from Juan Deminicis and Mindlook aka Santiago Garcia & Dark Soul Project.
Those of you who follow Pedro’s sound are in for a real treat here as ‘Closer’ ranks right up there with the Portuguese producers best work. Filled with deep pulsating grooves, enchanting atmospheres and haunting vocal samples Pedro has crafted a real back room monster . ‘Closer’ has also been a firm favourite of Guy J in recent months who has featured the track in one of his hugely influential promo mixes. So if that isn’t enough of a reason to buy it we don’t what is.
The first remix comes from one of Argentina’s finest who has also been enjoying huge support from Guy J of late. Juan Deminicis has been delivering outstanding productions over the last year for Flow, Outside The Box and Proton. Juan’s ‘Deep’ interpretation of ‘Closer’ is most likely the Argentinean producers deepest work to date as it brings things down a touch from Pedro’s original. A cavernous bass line sits at the foundation with haunting vocal gates and spacey atmospheres carry the piece through it’s perfect warm up disposition. Fabulous sounds as always from Juan.
The final remix on the package sees the Baires label bosses Santiago Garcia and Dark Soul Project teaming up under their new Mindlook alias. The energy is really jacked up a few notches here with a more than worthy dance floor groove that’s full of bouncy bass tones and vibrant drums. The shining moment comes though with the introduction of a unique and extremely cool melodic lead which brings the track to the main breakdown. The lead slowly dissipates while the drums keep the energy high; tension filled sweeps bring the rocking groove back along with some wickedly processed vocals for a great finish to the record. Top notch work turned in by everyone here and it results in one of the best releases on Baires to date. Release Promo Hype Chart Top 25
