The 35th release on Deersky’s Soundteller Records is out this week and it features the return of an exciting collaborative project. In March of this year Dio S and Alex Ganti released their ‘Ursa Major’ single on Soundteller. It was the duos first appearance on Deersky’s imprint and with a complement of remixes from Antrim, Eze Ramierez and Ronfoller it was one of Soundteller’s stand out releases of the year. The labels 35th offering now sees Dio and Alex returning for a follow-up single entitled ‘Patience’ which includes remixes from Alex Villanueva and Robert R. Hardy.
For those that loved the Greek duo’s first single on Soundteller I expect you’ll enjoy ‘Patience’ even more as its most likely their best studio creation to date. Backed by a tough, floor friendly groove ‘Patience’ is a track with some nice musicality as well. A set of wicked piano stabs comes to full realization during the main break and the dancing rhythms which accompany them during the second half finale are cool and classy. Nice work from Dio and Alex.
The first remix is provided by Alex Villanueva who is making his first appearance on Soundteller. Being one of Mexico’s most exciting electronic music producers Alex is now slowly starting to get the recognition he deserves. His most recent work for Agara Music and Balkan Connection have been amongst this year’s best underground remixes and he’s delivered another beauty here. Opting for a groovier and more laid back approach Alex’s interpretation makes great use of the piano elements along with a full complement of drums and soft atmospheric overlays which carries the track on a nice spaced out journey. Lovely stuff from Alex.
The second and final remix comes from Robert R. Hardy who is also making his debut appearance on Soundteller Records. The Hungarian producer also known for his D.M.P alias has been one of my favourite underground producers this year. There are a lot of artists making deep, atmospheric music at the moment but Robert seems to be one of the best at it. In a sea of relatively unmemorable tracks the majority of Robert’s stand out. He’s done a great job once again on his ‘Patience’ interpretation with a drummy rework that carries some nice musicality and most of all a groove that’s full of solid dance floor sensibilities. It’s the standout production for me on the release and Guy J apparently thinks so too as he’s already lent his support on the remix. Don’t miss it. Great release from Deersky’s Soundteller Records.
