The latest release on Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music features a brand new EP from Ezequiel Anile & Nicolas Petracca.
Ezequiel Anile & Nicolas Petracca have made their mark in the electronic music underground this year. The Argentinean duo have collectively appeared on Asymmetric Recordings, Soundteller Records and Stellar Fountain. This week sees another huge step in their careers as they make their debut on Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music. The labels 29th overall release features Ezequiel and Nicolas’ latest studio project entitled ‘Nothing Is What It Seems’.
The lead track ‘Nothing Is What It Seems’ kicks the EP off in fine style. With a menacing kick, tribal drum elements and a trippy complement of electronics it’s quite captivating even early on. The presence of the record grows dramatically with the addition of a warm, rolling foundation and a smooth blend of harmonic textures. Definitely a throwback to the pixie progressive days of 2004 but with a modern energetic twist. The heavenly break may go down as one of 2014’s most blissful moments and it’s charged re-entry is sure to inspire an electric response.
The companion piece ‘Love In Sunset’ is a solo creation from Nicolas and it complements the bigger ‘Nothing Is What It Seems’ very well. Backed by a funky groove and strong rhythmic components it’s another burly dance floor creation from the Argentine. A backdrop of misty pads and angelic vocal sweeps continue the EPs celestial vibe while it’s romping groove and playful energy are sure to lift the mood of any dance floor. Two solid cuts from Ezequiel Anile & Nicolas Petracca which go down as the best of their respective careers.
