Luka Sambe

The latest release on Agara Music welcomes Luka Sambe to the label with ‘Nini’.

Luka Sambe

I first heard about the Aussie producer when his ‘Locus’ production was released by Traum last December. The melodic techno creation enchanted many, including Guy J who was a supporter of the track. 2015 has yielded more gems from Luka’s studio with ‘Petrichor’ courtesy of Proton’s Particles being the most notable. Luka’s debut single for Agara Music is entitled ‘Nini’ and it comes with a remix from Filter Bear.

For all those that loved the intricate melodic work of Luka’s previous releases you’re in for a real treat here as he’s delivered another unique and detailed beauty. Layered beats and a wealth of fresh designs immediately grab your attention but it’s the unpredictable storyboard which really shines. Unconventional patterns and shifty rhythms really make for an interesting ride and the shimmering, tension filled break sets up a blissful third act perfectly. Wonderful stuff from Luka.

The lone interpretation of ‘Nini’ is provided by Filter Bear who is also making his debut on Agara Music. There’s a ton of cool things happening down under and Filter Bear has certainly been making his mark. His ‘Nini’ interpretation might be his most accomplished work yet, it’s been receiving amazing feedback from all sorts of DJs and it’s unique yet emotional vibe is a huge reason why. Funky bass stabs carve out a deadly groove while a soft textural overlay slowly encompasses the framework. There’s something quite orchestral about the first act but like any good story there are several unique twists along the way. Wonky keys contribute mightily to the elusive motif and a heavenly conclusion is the icing on the cake. Two standout cuts from a pair of Aussie producers who you’re going to be hearing a lot more about very soon, highly recommended.
