Stas Drive – Twin Souls / Arcturians (Dopamine Music)

Stas Drive was undoubtedly one of the more talked about producers in 2013. The Ukrainian producer delivered countless productions that earned club, radio and chart support from Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J. There was something about Stas Drive’s smooth hypnotic sound that caught the attention of the two storied DJs and it’s made Stas Drive one of the more in demand remixers of the moment. The 22th release on Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music features Stas Drive’s ‘Twin Souls / Arcturians’ which are the Ukrainian producers first original productions of 2014.

The EP’s lead track ‘Twin Souls’ begins with a very mystical, percussive vibe which is immediately captivating. Soft rhythms and clattering drum elements build a delicate hypnotic swing that gets some amazing momentum churning. The appearance of a cool vocal stab and big spacey atmospheres widen the scope of the track as the drums intensify towards the main break. The drop furthers the spacey sound designs for a brief moment before the tough groove drops back in for what will certainly be a big moment on the dance floor. A massive track from Stas Drive to kick off his 2014 campaign.

The companion piece ‘Arcturians’ presents a groovy foundation that is rich in character and shape. The dynamic bass stabs create a wicked roll while the haunting atmospheres slowly encompass the track’s framework. Stas has crafted a wide array of alien-like sounds which add a wonderfully trippy vibe to the track’s deep and sultry underbelly. Following the main break a bubbly sequence of quirky tones casts a cool, melancholic vibe which carries the track through a very satisfying climax. Two top tracks from Stas Drive which you should be hearing a lot in the coming months.
