Tinlicker drop debut artist album on Anjunabeats

Dutch duo Jordi van Achthoven and Micha Heyboer, aka Tinlicker, have released their eagerly awaited debut artist album, ‘This Is Not Our Universe’, on Anjunabeats.

‘This Is Not Our Universe’ is a vibrant melting pot of deep house, progressive and trance, featuring a line-up of exciting vocalists.

Recent single ‘Breezeblocks’ is a scintillating reworking of Alt-J’s biggest hit. Receiving the seal of approval from the band themselves, ‘Breezeblocks’ has become a key part of Tinlicker’s live sets and has brought the duo support from such industry heavyweights as Pete Tong, Above & Beyond, Deadmau5 and Armin van Buuren.

On ‘This Is Not Our Universe’, Tinlicker said: “This is actually our first album together. Our characters are quite different. This album is the result of those two different characters and the tension that arises in the search for the balance between the two of us. It is, as it were, a collection of ingredients with which we show that we are happy with the differences between them. The album also represents diversity. Many tracks on the album have the same character but are still different from each other. A nice reflection of how we are as people.”

Utrecht-based Tinlicker are currently on a worldwide tour, taking in many major festivals and venues, including Watergate’s ADE special at WesterUnie Amsterdam, plus UK dates at Warehouse Project at Manchester’s Mayfield Depot, Newcastle’s The Cosmic Ballroom, The Mill Birmingham, and Concorde 2 Brighton.
