Lonya’s Asymmetric Records presented Part 1 of their ADE 2014 Sampler last week. The five track exclusives EP featured Muzarco, Mariano Montori, Geist, Sakorka and Or Weisinger. This week sees the release of Part 2 and with that we have five brand new tracks from: Yariv E, Kobb, Qoob, Nicolas Petracca and Komaroff.

Leading off the release is Yariv E who is making his first appearance on Asymmetric. The Israeli artist has been quiet on the production front for over two years now so this is quite a welcome return. Yariv’s previous releases on Flamingo Records were of the big room, progressive variety but his latest entitled ‘Jimbo’ is a more stripped down, techno inspired piece. Based around a stark sounding groove, morphing vocals and some piercing second half stabs it’s definitely a trippy piece and a great mood setter early on.

The second selection is provided by Kobb who is making his eighth appearance on Asymmetric Recordings. In addition to Asymmetric the Israeli producer has appeared on Dopamine Music and also Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records. Kobb’s contribution here is entitled ‘Esteticho’ and it’s a beautiful blend of progressive and deep house sensibilities. A funky bottom end and crisp electronics deliver a thrilling atmosphere while a strong rhythmic component really squares things on the dance floor.

Russian duo Qoob is next with their latest original entitled ‘First In Space’. This is Qoob’s third appearance on the label which follows their ‘Desert Cry’ single and a remix for Namatjira. ‘First In Space’ has all the hallmarks of a great Qoob production. From its techy framework to proggy rhythms and subtle melodic themes there is a lot to like here and it’s also my favourite track on the release. It’s trippy nature is perfect for today’s contemporary progressive house sound and it certainly wouldn’t sound out of place in a Guy Mantzur set. Great work from Qoob.

Next up is Nicolas Petracca’s ‘We Can’ which is another great progressive production. The Argentinean producer has delivered some amazing music this year; most notably for Soundteller Records and Stellar Fountain. ‘We Can’ continues his strong momentum with smooth hypnotic grooves, ethereal sounding melodies and soft washed out vocal pads. A serene break just ups the blissful vibes and a strong second half should fare well on the dance floor.

Closing the release out is Komaroff who is making his first appearance on Asymmetric Recordings. Another one of the surging producers from the Israeli underground Komaroff has just come off excellent releases on Spring Tube and Green Mono Music. His contribution here is the funky tech house construction ‘Last Call’. There are a lot of interesting elements here from the varied vocals to extraordinarily funky bass lines. Sure to play well on the darker, trippier floors out there it rounds out an excellent part 2 of Asymmetric’s ADE 2014 Sampler. Don’t miss!
