The latest release on System Recordings welcomes Verche back to the label for a new double a-side EP.
The Croatian producer was quiet for several months until a remix of Audiotrakt’s ‘Overnight’ in April. It was an excellent return for Verche which showcased a revamped sound that was fresh and inspired. His latest entitled ‘Cause and Effect/Fading To Black’ looks to continue that strong momentum.
The more organic, electronica style design which was showcased on Verche’s ‘Overnight’ remix has been swapped for something much more techno inspired on ‘Cause and Effect’. Uniquely tailored beats and a fluttery motif puts a melancholic tone over the track straight away. As the distinctive theme grows in intensity so does it’s metallic sheen and the tracks underlying emotion follows suit. A second act filled with phasing mods, swirling atmospheres and big sweeping lines makes for what is easily the biggest track of Verche’s career. It’s quite a radical departure from what we’ve heard from him in the past and much like this Audiotrakt remix is quite inspired. The companion piece ‘Fading To Black’ proves to be a worthy complement with its spacey designs and futuristic atmospheres. The running time is near 10 minutes and it’s totally justified with many unique sonic twists along the way. Verche’s productions always tell a unique story and there are certainly two more to get lost in here. Excellent EP, don’t miss it.
