What’s In Your Box: Luke Porter

Luke Porter’s brand new remix of MdM ‘The Mirror’ is out this week on PHW Elements, we take a look at what’s been rocking his dance floors this month in the latest episode of What’s In Your Box.

Luke Porter

1. MDM – The Mirror (Luke Porter Remix) [PHW Elements]

“The Progressive House Worldwide guys have been huge supporters of my music for many years, so it was great to finally be able to repay that karma with a remix for their PHW Elements label. The Original had a great vocal sample which I used as the focal point to build the percussion and melodic bassline around.”

2. Monte – Bubblegum [JEUDI Records]

“Always a big fan of Monte’s stuff, especially when I need to navigate a set towards a more housey sound. This is a wicked cut with a cheesy vocal hook thrown in for good measure. Don’t let that turn you off because it does the business every time!”

3. Desaturate – Inundate [Sound Avenue]

“Janko from Progress Inn is releasing under the moniker of Desaturate. Exactly what you’d expect from him – hypnotic, driving & deep. Get onto this!”

4. Michael A – Indonesia [Temporum Music]

“I have nothing but love for Michael A’s recent release on my label. Indonesia is a beautifully smooth track with an exceptional breakdown. Big in my recent sets and Guy J even charted this one as well. Michael is dominating at the moment.”

5. Guy Mantzur & Sahar Z – The Greenwich Tunnel / Andy Ling – Fixation (Ricky Ryan Mashup)

“Ricky Ryan sent me this mashup he put together a while ago. Just wait until half way through when the melody for Fixation starts to roll in – absolutely euphoric. “

6. Lee Van Dowski – 050504 [Mobilee Germany]

“If you want a demonstration on how to manipulate a listener with anticipation then study this track. For the entire 9 minutes 13 seconds the track continually threatens to drop into a massive bassline – but it never occurs. Instead it keeps you on edge the whole time with precision syncopation and a series of eerie vocals rinsed by a vocoder. Absolute mind melter.”

7. Dmitry Molosh – Astray [Temporum Music]

“My Belarus love affair continues with Dmitry’s upcoming original for Temporum. This is a classic progressive track – crisp and clean production with layer after layer building up. 2015 is Dmitry’s year to really shine.”

8. Joel Mull – Pale Reich (feat Sasha) [Last Night On Earth]

“I have been using this as the perfect transition track recently. Super easy arrangement to mix in and out of no matter what key you are in. Has all the normal hallmarks of a Sasha production, is superbly mixed and sounds amazing on any sound system.”

9. Kiko/Oliver Giacomotto – Beautiful Place [Noir Music]

“Can’t get enough of this. The warped lead and chuggy groove are just brilliant. Big!”

10. Rich Curtis & Dark Soul Project – Synesthesia (Dustin Nantais Remix) [Slideways]

“Been getting into Dustin’s material recently and this is the pick of the bunch. The bassline is just ridiculous and the melody infectious. The ultimate double and a firm favourite of mine at the moment.”
