What’s In Your Box: Daraspa

With Daraspa’s remix of Robert R. Hardy out this week on Superordinate Music, we take a look at his favourite tracks of the moment in the latest edition of What’s In Your Box?

Daraspa

1. Patrice Baumel – Dum Dum (Original Mix) [Kompakt]

“This is one of the two tracks from Patrice’s amazing album on Kompakt. I think it is one of the best albums that came out this year. It is hard to pick one of the two tracks but this one blew me away the first time I heard it. The breakbeat drums combined with a big bassline creates magic on the dancefloor if you drop it at the right time”

2. Xyz – Solution (Kenton_Slash_Demon’s 4/4 Therapy) [WAA Industry]

“Another Timeless piece of music. Will play this one the whole summer!”

3. Navar & Mononoid – Ad Litem (Original Mix) [microCastle]

“Navar and Mononoid. What a combination! Put three people like that in a studio and you end up with a fabulous EP like this. The whole album is pure quality as you would expect but this is the stand out track for me. So much sensitivity in the main synth line.”

4. Few Nolder – One (Karl Friedrich Remix) [Needwant]

“The heavy bassline and the choir make this such an epic tune. Flawless and music at best”

5. Marc Romboy /Stephan Bodzin – Atlas (Adriatique remix) [Systematic recordings]

Adriatique doesn’t need any introduction. They made the original so much better in my opinion. The groove and the haunting vocalish synth, the break just at the right time and place. It is one of my favourite tracks at the moment without a doubt“

6. Ruede Hagelstein – Footprints (feat. C.A.R.) (The Drifter Remix) [Watergate records]

Ruede Hagelstein with a remix of the drifter. Couldn’t ask for anything more. I already mentioned the drifters remix capabilities in another top ten of mine and he is doing it again here. “

7. Ø Concept – John’s Brother (Slow Hearts Remix)  [Natura viva black]

“Slow hearts are such talented artists. Supported many of their originals in my show halcyon but this remix is something else again. Violins and haunting synths. A masterpiece in every way!”

 8. Dizharmonia – Ieron (Original Mix) [Cohesive Records]

“I always try to find new stuff and last week I bumped into this track. It reminds me a lot of the tale of us style which is incredible difficult to achieve so I am eager to hear more from them”

9. Robert H. Hardy – Chasing pleasure  (Daraspa remix) [Superordinate]

“Robert H. Hardy is a very talented producer in my opinion. The arpeggio and the bassline of the original are very, very nice. I tried to give the original a more techno approach by adding a somewhat unusual drum pattern and some more deep house synth effects”

10. Weval – The battle [Kompakt]

“I was very fortunate to see Weval live last year here in Amsterdam which is also their hometown. The announced album is finally out and it is sure another masterpiece. I truly hope to be able to make music like this in the future.”
