About a month ago, I was fortunate enough to play live with Madloch in his NYC debut. It was a great party, and my closing set was one of the most enjoyable I’ve ever done. This is a selection of the tracks I played that night.

1. Jorgio Kioris – Pushin’ (Desaturate Pushy Remix) [Balkan Connection]

“Desaturate is one of my favorite producers, and his remix of Pushin’ is just unstoppable. I love its dark, simmering drive, and the vocal samples are truly hypnotic.”

2. Alfonso Muchacho – Last Horizon (Original Mix) [PHW Elements]

“Last Horizon has a very cool and rare combination of acidy intensity and swing. The lead that emerges during the break is evocative of Ennio Morricone’s spaghetti western melodies, a really nice twist.”

3. Ri Za – Champions (Daraspa Remix) [Suffused Music]

“Champions rocks with an unrelenting rhythm, and manages to be upbeat, uplifting and immensely powerful all at once. It also has an excellent vocal…I’m very curious about who sang it!”

4. Oscar Vazquez – Midnight Trip [Golden Wings Music]

“This track has a great call and response between a percussion riff and synth hit, and there’s a filtered synth line that keeps the track pushing forward endlessly. Super cool.”

5. Kastis Torrau, Arnas D – Eye (Desaturate ‘Tunnel Vision’ Remix ) [Sound Avenue]

“I thought the original mix of “Eye” was outstanding; whenever I played it live, it went over really well. So when the remix EP came out later, I thought it would be pretty tough to match the original, but this remix does just that. It really gets people moving with a steady, shuffling build and super-infectious riffing.”

6. One Million Toys – While I Move (Original Mix) [238 West]

“While I Move is an appropriate title for this track, which combines an insanely catchy arpeggiated riff with the kind lumpy rhythm that practically shoves you onto the floor. Really edgy and exciting.”

7. Jesper Mauerhoff – Trip To Strip (Original Mix) [Bonzai Progressive]

“I just love the rhythm of this track, it’s simple and irresistible. And I have to say it really lights up the floor.”

8. Volkan Erman, Hypnotic Progressions – Underground Sunrise (Original Mix) [Abstract Space Records]

“Deep, dark and hypnotic, this track is great for a late-night trip out. It’s got a surreal quality that I never get tired of. Cool vocal sample too.”

9. Desaturate – The Call (Rick Pier O’Neil Remix) [Balkan Connection]

“Rick Pier O’Neil has really been on fire lately. His remix of The Call is close to the original, but cranks up the intensity a bit, making it more suited to a late night set. Such a nice, warm, dark atmosphere to this track.”

10. Following Light – Oracle (Original Mix) [Superordinate Music]

“I love this track’s interplay between the squelchy acid line and syncopated, bell-like synth, and there’s wistful vibe that emerges later, making it a nice way to cool things down toward the end of the night.”
