Jamie Stevens

What’s In Your Box: Jamie Stevens

With Jamie Stevens having new music out now on Or Two Strangers we take a look at his favourite tracks of the moment in the latest edition of Whatโ€™s In Your Box?

Anchorsong – Gyotens Kalimba (Sebastian Mullaret Intensification)

This man forges his own path and I love him for that. The master of reduction and vibe, Sebastian creates delicate movement in his works like no one else. This remix is a brilliant mood-setter.

Tone Depth – Palm Beach [Badpony]

This track just kicks the night into gear. Itโ€™s fun, has a super-solid groove and has perfect structure of peaks and valleys. Top tune!

Masaya – Borderline (Neil Flynnโ€™s Reduction Edition) [Chapter 24]

Masayaโ€™s album on Chapter 24 is great and she has deft touch but this remix of Borderline smashes it out of the of the park. Hypnotic, dark excellence from a guy Iโ€™ve been keeping an eye on for a while now.

Luis Bondio – India (Jamie Stevens Remix) [Or Two Strangers]

A bit of a shameless plug here but Iโ€™m really happy with this way this turned out. It took me a while to find the sweet spot when I tried to remix this but I eventually found it and enjoyed getting creative with it.

Roger Martinez – Godess [Sudbeat]

Roger has an uncanny knack for creating both killer grooves and a rich and full mix. Hi stuff always sounds on-point in a club. This track is a perfect roller.

Tanov – Throde [Parallel Label]

Tanov doesnโ€™t seem to release all that much, to be honest, but Iโ€™m always impressed with his ability to emit such emotional power without over overstating anything. This is a great example of that. Love it.

Tigerskin, Elli and K.E.E.N.E – Lust (David Mayer Remix) [Connected Frontline]

Iโ€™m a big fan of David Mayer. Such a talent when it comes to raw and powerful grooves. Anyone who has ever listened to anything Iโ€™ve made will realise that I love drums, percussion, drama, atmosphere and a little oddness. Well, this has a lot of that, too, and has a great feel-good quality.

Christian Loffler – Vind (Max Cooper Remix) [Ki Records]

I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve heard a piece of music from Christian that I havenโ€™t liked. He has such a delicate way of composing with such emotion. This remix is one of the best from Max in a while, in my opinion. Stunning.

Ampish – Heartbreak [Badpony]

A lot of energy and drama in this one, another gem Ampishโ€™s own Badpony label. Not a track I could play everywhere but at the right moment, I can see a few tears shed. Heartbreak indeed.

Sahar Z & Navar – When We Face Reality [Lost & Found]

A profoundly beautiful track that you can lose yourself in. Just gorgeous.
