Progressive House Promo Pool and industry hype chart – Release Promo share their weekly must hear tracks.

Ezequiel Arias – Spaceless [Replug]

Celebrating its 50th release Cid Inc’s Replug Records unveils the first installment of its Defined series this week. There are five standout tracks but the perpetually hot Ezequiel Arias which grabs the most attention. A staple in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Argentinean artist also owns releases on Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records. Now making his much anticipated Replug debut Ezequiel presents some of his best ever work with ‘Spaceless’. Following the ethos of the collection we’re welcomed with a warm, rolling groove and wispy atmospherics. Airy swells, delicate tones and dulcet chord changes deliver an exquisite first act. A wonderfully crafted break elevates the mood once more; elegant and a touch cinematic, it sets up a groovy, percussive drop that’s sure to be magic on your dance floor.

Tone Depth & Ampish – Marathon (Ziger Remix) [Movement Recordings]

The latest release on Tash’s Movement Recordings finds the label showcasing a brand new EP from Tone Depth & Ampish. The release concludes with Ziger providing the lone interpretation of ‘Marathon’. The Greek producer has become one of Movement’s core artists in recent years while also finding a home on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records. Now following his ‘Faith In The Future’ single from June of this year Ziger returns, closing the release out with an excellent rendition of ‘Marathon’. Known for his pure progressive sensibilities, the Greek artist ups the intensity while maintaining the vibe and drive of the original. It’s a heads down affair with a dark underbelly, razor sharp stabs and rugged rhythms carrying the journey to a stunning break. Crafted to perfection, the centrepiece is aimed squarely at a peak time dance floor, with tonal tension and a timely roll delivering an electric moment which closes the release out on a high note.

Ilona Maras, Sanja feat. Billie Fountain – Curve Of The Horizon (Quivver Remix) [Dear Deer]

Dear Deer Records returns this week with one of their biggest projects of the year from Ilona Maras and Sanja. Capping the release off is the one and only John Graham aka Quivver making his label debut. Listening to the original, the elements certainly lend themselves to a remix from John so it’s an excellent fit and the results certainly dictate that. Smooth and exhilarating in equal measure, the groove gets reshaped into something more fluid and free flowing, setting the perfect foundation for John’s distinctive stabs and robust rhythmic core.  A pure dance floor groover and no doubt something you’ll hearing a lot in the coming months.

Glenn Morrison – Stranger Things [Fall From Grace Records]

Glenn Morrison’s much anticipated follow up to last year’s critically acclaimed ‘Into The Deep’ LP is here. Spread across 14 tracks ‘Dark Waters’ certainly has a wealth of quality material to choose from but it’s the deep and seductive ‘Stranger Things’ that we want to showcase here. Smooth meditative arps, organic percussion and a well crafted storyboard make for a charming nine minute journey. A definite standout on the LP.

East Cafe – Aviophobia (Robert R Hardy Remix) [Soundteller Records]

The mighty East Cafe returns to Deersky’s Soundteller Records this week with a new single entitled ‘Aviophobia’. It’s always nice to see two top talents from the same country coming together and that’s exactly how the release ends with Robert R. Hardy on the final remix. Another dominate force from Hungary’s progressive house underground, Robert has earned praise from the scene’s key players, namely Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Cid Inc. Aptly coined ‘Above the Clouds’ Robert takes the track into deeper and dreamier territory as muted tones and charming soundscapes quickly steal your heart. There’s a bit of an ‘end of the night’ type feel here, certainly very reflective in nature and perhaps one of Robert’s most emotive creations to date.

GMJ – Inside A Mystery [Replug]

This is such a great collection it was hard not to include a second track from it and who better than GMJ. His contribution here ‘Inside A Mystery’showcases his refined approach perfectly. Set against a bed of rippling bass and phasing atmospherics it’s a concisely constructed seven minute journey. A haze of vocal effects, buzzing tones and layers of percussion push the narrative forward before creamy motifs lift the mood into a buzzing finale.

Feemarx – Quasar [Keep Thinking]

Brazilian artist and Not Another label boss Feemarx released his debut album on the UK imprint Keep Thinking this week. The club oriented collection is spread across ten tracks all with their own unique charm. ‘Quasar’ shines the brightest for us though with it’s tough beats, gorgeous arps and spacey flow that’s incredibly refreshing.

Ian Mayer – Summer Breeze (Ewan Rill Remix) [Balkan Connection]

The latest release from Balkan Connection welcomes Ian Mayer back to the label for a brand new single. Balkan Connection artist Ewan Rill provides the first remix and once again shows why he’s one of the most tried and tested names in the progressive underground. In lowering the tempo and revamping the groove, Ewan has given the track a completely different feel. The simple lead has been reprocessed into something a bit more wonky and modern while the percussion also gets beefed up a touch. Two breaks make for a great second act, shifting energy at timely moments and never losing sight of the dance floor. Great remix from Ewan.

Nila – Organ Run [ICONYC]

John Johnson’s ICONYC imprint continues to impress this week with a brand new EP from Nila. The UK artist is making his label debut and delivers a stunning two track EP. The title cut ‘Organ Run’ stands out with it’s tough, techno inspired framework, buzzing synths swells and a gorgeous break which ultimately seals it’s brilliance.

Tim Robert – Absolute Relativity (Dyo Atoma Remix) [Clinique Recordings]

The latest release from Clinique Recordings welcomes Tim Robert back to the label for a brand new single. The release concludes with Dyo Atoma returning to the label for his third appearance. Russian artist Sam Scheme and Jiminy Hop make up the Dyo Atoma production team and have been on a very nice streak since their first release in September of 2016. Just last week they released their first single for Clinique entitled ‘Tazmania’ and now they return with a great remix of ‘Absolute Relativity’. Definitely the biggest mix on the package, the Russian duo transform the original into a peak time bomb with a dark chunky groove, deadly effects and cool modern flair. It’s big and closes the release not only on a high note but leaves you wanting to hear more from this exciting duo.

Chris Drifter & Reelaux feat. Hidden Tigress – Daydreaming (Antrim Remix) [SoulArt Recordings]

The latest release on SoulArt Recordings finds label boss Chris Drifter  teaming up with Reelaux for a fresh collaboration. There are many remixes to choose from led by the amazing Antrim who makes his label debut here. The Argentinean artist and Or Two Strangers label boss goes deeper with a killer late night vibe. The vocals have been chopped and reprocessed to perfection resulting in something quite indistinct and modern with the focus lying heavily on Antrim’s perfectly contoured grooves.

Underground Ticket – Leave (Cosmonaut Remix) [Stellar Fountain]

Underground Ticket returns to Stellar Fountain this week with a brand new single entitled ‘Leave’. it’s a diverse package with three distinctive genres explored and it’s Cosmonaut’s progressive minded production that has people talking. The cross-cultural motifs are sure to be a hit amongst progressive house fans and like all Cosmonaut productions there’s an amazing groove and dance floor sensibility about it.
